SCS raise an amazing £6,500 for Riders for Health
‘SCS have come up with a really fantastic way of supporting our work, and we are very grateful for everything they have done for us over the past two years,’ said Riders’ fundraising officer Astrid Jenkinson.
‘I was lucky enough to attend the Vee Festival last year and witness the commitment of the team at SCS. It was a great day and they are making a huge difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable families in Kenya.’
SCS donate £6,000 to Make-A-Wish to send Katherine and her family to Disney Florida
Katherine lives in Southampton and has a complex number of conditions. As well as having insulin dependent diabetes and coeliac disease, Katherine also has osteopenia and juvenile dermatomyositis, a rare condition that causes chronic muscle inflammation and weakness. She occasionally needs to use a wheelchair.
Make-A-Wish arranged for Katherine and her family to have a seven day holiday in Florida. They stayed in a family villa at Give Kids The World, an amazing village next door to Disney World where all the villas are specially adapted for children with complex medical and physical needs and which specialises in giving the children a truly magical experience.
Katherine’s mum emailed us to say the whole family had the most fantastic time. …Katherine had a fantastic time and smiled from the moment she got up until the time she went to bed. We will never forget this holiday; it was the best holiday ever.
Make-A-Wish cannot grant these magical wishes without the generous support of people and companies like SCS and we are truly grateful.
